Sunday 19th June 2011: WestFest - Magdalen Green, Dundee

Dundee Westfest is a community led initiative in the West End of Dundee which aims to celebrate the city by harnessing the talents, skills and enthusiasm of local people to create a memorable and enjoyable annual festival. This was Dundee Museum of Transport's first appearance at this event and we had a great response to all our exhibits. Photographs courtesy Dave Martin.

Dundee Corporation's coat-of-arms takes pride of place in front of the DMofT gazebo. A number of popular photographs from our 2010 exhibition were also on display. Courtesy Dave Martin.

Want a slater or the need fire brigade? We have it covered! Some of the classic vehicles on display that we hope will form part of our collection once suitable premises are acquired. Courtesy Dave Martin.

Classic cars, the Ashford Litter and a wonderful green-striped deckchair for all to see at the DMofT display. Sadly the bouncy castle in the distance isn't one of our exhibits (yet!). Courtesy Dave Martin.

15th May 2011: Armstrong Siddeley Club 'Help for Heroes' fundraising event

Held at Discovery Point, members of the public were able to give a donation for a short run in the assembled vintage vehicles with all of the proceeds going to the Help for Heroes charity. Discovery Point allowed their staff car park can be used and the run was from there to the Bridgeview Cafe (the one past the rail bridge with the old train carriage) and back.

Dundee Museum of Transport was represented by two vehicles plus others from Tayside Classic Car Club and the Military Vehicles Group. Unfortunately problems with an independently-owned preserved bus meant it was unable to attend.
